Indians knocked in four runs in the fourth on its way to a 7-1 victory over Oconee County on Wednesday. Laney McGee and Jasmine Lowery each had RBIs in the frame.
In the first inning, Oconee County got their offense started when Ashton Aycock singled on a 2-1 count, scoring one run.
Indians pulled away for good with four runs in the fourth inning. In the fourth McGee singled on a 1-0 count, scoring one run and Lowery doubled on a 1-1 count, scoring three runs.
Allie Huff was credited with the victory for Indians. Huff surrendered one run on eight hits over seven innings, striking out seven and walking zero.
Kate Newberry took the loss for Oconee County. Newberry lasted seven innings, allowing 14 hits and seven runs while striking out five and walking zero.
Indians collected 14 hits. Elizabeth Leverett, McGee, Kaylin Snyder, Abby Whitfield, and Brenna McCall each collected multiple hits for Indians. McGee and Leverett each collected three hits to lead Indians.
Oconee County racked up eight hits. Summer Hawkins and Newberry each racked up multiple hits for Oconee County. Hawkins went 3-for-3 at the plate to lead Oconee County in hits.
