Head Coach David Poffenberger
Coach Poffenberger, Toccoa Falls Alumni, has been a part of the Lady Indian Softball program for over 10 years and has served as head coach for 8 years. Prior to joining the Stephens County High School family, Poffenberger was an assistant baseball coach at Toccoa Falls College from 2009-2013, where he won 4 National Championships under head coach Justin Pollock. He was inducted into the Eagles Hall of Fame as an individual player and with the 1992 team. He started his coaching career at Little League Baseball Inc, in Williamsport, PA. running baseball camps during the summers. He also assisted with baseball camps at Clemson University under head coach Jack Leggitt.
Assistant Coach Michael Thomas
Coach Thomas is a former Stephens County athlete and has been a part of the Lady Indian Softball program since 2013. Prior to joining our coaching staff, Thomas served as an Assistant Softball Coach for the Madison County Red Raiders. Thomas is also an Assistant Baseball Coach for Stephens County High School.
Assistant Coach Jaya Alaan
Coach Alaan has been a part of Lady Indian Softball since 2019. Prior to joining the coaching staff, Alaan played Division I softball for Mercer University where she was a 4 year letterman athlete. Alaan served as a Catcher/Utility for the Bears. She is a Southern California native who played for elite travel ball organizations including the Corona Angels and Firecrackers during her youth.
Assistant Coach Austin Lord
Coach Lord is a Toccoa native and former Stephens County High School multi-sport varsity athlete. Lord played Division I baseball for the Mercer University Bears where he was an essential part of the pitching staff that led the Bears to 3 Southern Conference wins and 2 NCAA Tournament appearances. The 2020 season will be Lord’s first year a part of the Lady Indian Softball program. Prior to joining Stephens County Athletics, Lord was a part of Mary Pearson High School Baseball’s Varsity Pitching Coach 2018 and Assistant Softball Coach for Jackson County Softball.
